Only ‘The Supremes’ Can Save Us Now

Congress fell into marching step with our infamous leader, passing a law that by its very nature defies the constitution and its protections of Freedom. In order to fight an enemy without borders, our supposed representatives, and the man who is president, passed a law that plunges the United States of America into a darkness that hasn’t been seen since Medieval Europe. Once a person is declared an enemy combatant, or an illegal alien, they are now legally denied a court hearing to determine if that claim is just. Nobody is safe, not legally, from this possibility. You are now at the mercy of the ethics of our government, and hte hope that they will not abuse the blank cheque they have been given. I don’t know about you, but I do not feel secure anymore. Our government is now the largest terrorist organization in the world. Keep in mind that a ‘Terrorist’ is any person or organization that uses fear and terror to force change. Al-Qaeda may have launched the attack, but our government used the fear of that event to force a change that has effectively destroyed the Freedom for which the United States once stood.

Almost immediatly this law was wielded as a club:

Court Told It Lacks Power in Detainee Cases – washingtonpost.com : Moving quickly to implement the bill signed by President Bush this week that authorizes military trials of enemy combatants, the administration has formally notified the U.S. District Court here that it no longer has jurisdiction to consider hundreds of habeas corpus petitions filed by inmates at the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba.

It would appear that the legislative and executive branches of our government have fully embraced the descent into a police state. Our only hope is that the Supreme Court will strike down this law. How confident of that are you?
