Speaking of content...
I received a rather rude email the other day that concerned my site and the
content within. It annoyed me to the point that I decided to make this addendum
to the site in order to explain what you might expect to see here...
Anything I want!
You see, this is my site. I maintain it. I pay for it. I use it as an
expression of myself. If you find the content of my site offensive on some
level, simply leave. Do not set a bookmark. Do not pass Go! Do not come back.
I'll probably still be doing things that annoy you.
What could someone possibly do that would bother me so much?
- Send me email without identifying yourself.
The person in question never gave a name, and their email contained two
separate email addresses: "outsider" <acam@pacbell.net> &
ghostwheel@mindspring.com, neither of which
tell me much about the individual.
- Start an email with a sentence like:
So you are the S.O.B. who stole my domain
name.
This told me more about the person in question than anything else in the
message.
- Make a brain dead statement like:
I did however notice a few commercial links on your
site. I doubt Rodj would have liked this.
- Did you know Roger Zelazny so well that he liked you calling him
"Rodj"??
- If you respect Roger Zelazny so much, would you tell him you did not like
the selling of his stories? Most likely not. Please do not tell me what of my
work to sell and not to sell.
Before I come off as a complete psycho...
I am nearly always open to comments and suggestions. Especially things that
will truly make the site more enjoyable for you, and more importantly, for me.
But remember that presentation is everything:
- If you don't know me, introduce yourself.
- If you don't know me well, remind me who you are and how we met.
- If you haven't gotten drunk with me, or pulled me out of a burning car,
don't call me a S.O.B. in the first sentence of an email.
Is that really too much to ask?
