The Enchanted Cottage

Fantasy Leather and Steel Armor

Slayer & Nova at the Georgia Renaissance Festival 1996.

Good day and well met. We at The Enchanted Cottage would like to take this time to introduce ourselves and what we are all about.

When we started this business five years ago we were fascinated by the enchantment Renaissance Faires had on the public and ourselves. Once we began we were addicted. First we offered crystals and battle gauge chain mail until we perfected our Leather Armor line three years ago. The response was so overwhelming that we decided to take it on the road. We hope your response will be accepting

As you walk into our booth and see our wares one notices that these are not the works of a common leathersmith. No pouches, pocketbooks or shoes. Instead your eyes will feast upon an array of stylish and barbaric sculpted leather pieces we call armor. We have studied the art of Caboli technique for five years to pursue our craft. There is a bit of "fantasy style " for those who dare to challenge their imagination and our "regal line" for those who have journeyed through upper family kinsmen. We create many one of a kind pieces for those who want their individuality and production pieces with a flair all their own. We offer full suits, one arm pieces, skirts, headpieces, tastes, grieves, gauntlets, pauldrons and bracers.

We have many new additions. For starters, we overlay bracers, bracelets and gauntlets with metal. Stainless, mild steel and brass are riveted into the leather for the warrior look. Inlays and full suits are available for the real "manly men" who dare to battle their opponents. All of our armor pieces, with or without metal, are fully articulated for movement and comfort. Vivid or mute colors are used on edging for those that enjoy wearing more than "just black". Various colors are available upon request.

Because of many requests we now produce a "female armor’" line. Bra tops and full pieces are similar to the male line but with a feminine touch.

Our chain mail line is still made from nine gauge brass covered in RD coating. Pieces are made to be worn over hands, heads, necks and overlaying armor for protection.

By combining our leather, steel and chain mail, we have created an impressive line of Science Fiction Theme Armor. Inspired by written and visual works, our unique adaptations are both stylish and functional.

We are proud to introduce our newest member of The Enchanted Cottage, Mr. Peter Vario (better known as Morgil). He has been with us from the start, but never revealed his true talents and artistry until recently. Besides being a good friend and wonderful asset, his remarkable tooling skills have brought a fresh approach to the armor. From dragons to wizards, Celtic to runes, pictures to his original work, Morgil works magic incorporating art into leather.

We enjoy living the fantasy. Thank you for your time and dropping by. We look forward to seeing you at one of the many faires at which we participate.

Sincerely,
Slayer & Nova
