Will someone please put Spielberg back in his box?
In a story at io9.com about televisions shows that “Could Save Small-Screen Scifi” I can’t believe this was on the list:
Steven Spielberg’s untitled alien invasion series, starring Noah Wylie. We can’t wait until this show gets a title that’s less of a mouthful.

Didn’t the world learn anything from Taken? Namely, that if you give Spielberg small-screen time he sucks it up and pisses it away. Twenty full hours of screen time devoted to a concept, but completely lacking in Plot, Conflict and Resolution. Taken wouldn’t have gotten a passing grade at a third rate film school.
I do not want to see anything ‘new’ by Spielberg, especially since he has already screwed up his chance at an ‘alien invasion series’. Alien Apocalypse, which despite having Bruce Campbell, was pretty horrible; but it was pure Oscar material compared to Taken.
What I want is my twenty hours of my life back. Damn you, Spielberg, give them back!
SecureCRT on OS X enters alpha testing!
Looks like it is finally happening!
-------------------------------------------------- 2. SecureCRT for OS X Enters Limited Alpha Release -------------------------------------------------- Development of SecureCRT for OS X (Apple Mac) continues to progress. We have begun very limited alpha testing with a small group of users. If that testing goes well, the alpha will be expanded to a wider group of users. There will be an announcement in the newsletter when the OS X version is available for public beta testing, which will likely be later this year. If you would like to be notified when SecureCRT for OS X is available for public beta testing, please e-mail Maureen Jett at Maureen.Jett@vandyke.com.

Give up, fanboys, Flash isn’t going to happen
“Flash is just around the corner”, “Flash has to happen, sooner or later”, “iPhone OS 4 will have Flash”
I’m sorry, there will never be support for Flash as it currently exists. Allowing Flash would break Apple’s iron grip on iPhone/iPad/iPod applications. Anyone frustrated with the App Store could simply make a flash version of their application and bypass the whole approval process. Obviously, this couldn’t be done for 100% of the apps, but even 0.001% of the apps is more than Apple will ever allow.
And that is why Apple is never going to approve Flash for the iP(ad/od/hone) platform.
